This Privacy Policy describes how Rangor (rangor.io) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, hosted service, browser extension, and related APIs.

Who we are

Rangor provides a context layer for AI agents — connecting work systems (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Google Drive, and similar sources) and delivering structured context packages to your tools. Contact: hello@rangor.io.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address, organization name, workspace slug, and credentials you set during signup or invite.
• Connected source data: content indexed from systems you authorize (issues, pages, repositories, files) — processed to build context packages for your workspace.
• Usage data: API requests, MCP tool calls, indexing status, Usage Receipts (claim IDs cited or ignored — not full claim text in receipts), and basic product analytics.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, timestamps, and logs needed for security, abuse prevention, and service operation.

How we use information

• Provide, operate, and improve the Rangor service.
• Generate permission-filtered context packages for your workspace and connected agents.
• Authenticate users, enforce access controls, and maintain audit logs.
• Improve ranking and relevance (including warm ranking from Usage Receipts within your workspace).
• Respond to support requests and communicate about the service.

Permission-aware processing

Context packages respect access rights from connected sources. You only receive facts from documents and resources you are permitted to access. We do not use your private workspace content to train public foundation models.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Infrastructure providers that host our service (under contractual confidentiality).
• Connected platforms (Jira, GitHub, etc.) when you initiate OAuth or API connections — only as needed to sync data you authorize.
• Legal requirements when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Retention

We retain account and indexed data while your workspace is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated workspace data by contacting hello@rangor.io. Some logs may be retained for security and legal compliance for a limited period.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS), relationship-based access controls synced from your sources, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to protect your data proportionally to its sensitivity.

Hosted service

Rangor is offered as a cloud service at app.rangor.io and related subdomains. Your workspace data is processed on our infrastructure to provide indexing, context generation, and delivery to your authorized tools.

International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards where required.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact hello@rangor.io to exercise these rights.

Children

Rangor is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
